What it means
Dubai Civil Defence (part of the UAE's General Directorate of Civil Defence) enforces the national Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice. An approval or listing confirms that a product has been independently evaluated and permitted for use in UAE buildings and infrastructure. For many fire-protection products, this approval is mandatory — a system cannot be legally specified or installed without it.
How it is obtained
At a high level, the product is first tested at an accredited laboratory against the relevant fire-safety standard. The manufacturer then submits the test reports and technical documentation to Civil Defence for review. If the product meets the requirements, it is added to the approved / registered products list, subject to periodic renewal and audit.
Why it matters
Civil Defence approval gives specifiers, consultants and authorities the confidence to accept a product on UAE projects. For Fipron, it means our systems can be deployed where regional regulations require certified fire protection.
