What it means
SZU (the Engineering Test Institute) is a testing, inspection and certification body and an EU Notified Body. Testing and certification under NB 1015 provides independent, accredited confirmation that a product meets the applicable European (EN) standards for its category — an objective third-party check of performance and safety.
How it is obtained
The manufacturer submits the product and its technical file to SZU. The product undergoes type-testing to the relevant EN standard; on passing, SZU issues the corresponding test reports and certificates. Ongoing factory production control and periodic audits keep the certification valid.
Why it matters
Independent EU testing gives international buyers, insurers and authorities confidence in a product's performance, and supports conformity and CE-related requirements across European and export markets.
