Purpose-built for PV connectors

MC4 connectors are a frequent origin of solar-array fires. The Box houses the connection inside durable, fire-resistant plastic with an integrated Fipron Cord, suppressing any ignition at the source while shielding the joint from the environment. It handles DC PV up to 1,500 V and needs no maintenance.

Testing

MC4 connector fire test

An MC4 solar connector is made to fault and ignite inside a Fipron Box. The sealed, fire-resistant housing contains the flames while the integrated Fipron Cord activates — releasing its extinguishing agent at the seat of the fire to suppress it inside the box and stop it reaching the array or roof.
