How it works
Fipron Cord is a composite cord packed with heat-sensitive microcapsules. Under the effect of a fire at any point along its length, the capsule shells rupture at roughly 200°C and release a clean extinguishing agent directly onto the source. There is no detector, no trigger line and no human intervention — the cord is the sensor and the suppressant in one.
Where it fits
Because it is passive and needs no clearance around live parts, the cord is ideal for tight electrical spaces where a fire is most likely to start:
- Cable trays, trunking and busbar runs
- Switchgear, distribution boards and control panels
- Lithium-ion battery and BESS enclosures
- Machinery cabinets and junction boxes
